Happy Year of the Chicken! (2005)

Starting February 9, 2005 was 鸡年 jīnián, year of the chicken. (The previous year was monkey; the next, dog.)

鸡[雞] jī means chicken. 公鸡 gōngjī means cock/rooster (male chicken). 母鸡 mǔjī means hen (female chicken).
